OCEAN-CURRENTS ARE PRESENT IN ALL LARGE OCEANS AROUND THE GLOBE.
WE HAVE COMPARED Ocean currents with other major, sustainable and renewable resources (also considered to be very good alternatives) and we find that on average, Wind, Wave and Solar all have at best a 50% efficiency. Wind is needed for both wave and wind-power and the sun is on average "up" 12 hours/day. Solar power is becoming more and more competitive as manufacturing cost is continuously reduced. All of these to be compared with ocean-currents, which are in motion more or less at the same speed, all the time. In other words, they are moving "to our advantage" on a 24/7/365 basis and thus they establish close to a 100% efficiency if we adjust equipment to the currents speed. This is a significant advantage for any of today's existing ocean current applications.
OCEAN-CURRENTS are continuously transporting high volumes of the the Pacific, Indian and Atlantic oceans' waters along the continents' coastlines 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week. In other words 365 days/year at a very good average of 2-6 knots! This means "All the Time" - and for our invention, where they are deployed, available at a 100% efficiency. We believe that our invention, which is also adjustable to suit a specific current's speed, therefore has a distinct advantage over many of our competitors. We are talking about a power supply 24 hours a day, "free of charge" and available both along our coasts as well as "far offshore" without causing any visual pollution. Our platforms can be deployed way out there with no complaining neighbors, at ideal depths, suitable for our own invention. Our ideal depths mostly range from the surface and down 10-15 meters or more(45 feet) but also further down in specific regions such as equatorial currents with power to be extracted down to at least 150 meters.
WE HAVE MORE THAN ENOUGH real estate available to us "way offshore" - around the Globe! All nations, on every continent with a coastline, are our potential customers. We have unlimited not before utilized "virgin" real estate available to us. Real estate, which is not ideal (and out of reach) for the majority of our competitors. Floating Wind Power platforms being one exception, but they still need for the wind to blow all the time at 9m/second or better to become really efficient and to compete. As constructed today, they still require both higher (CAPEX) Capital Expenditure and more maintenance/OPEX related issues to deal with, which will affect ROI. Our solution cost less to build and incorporates fewer moving parts/gears and absence of high tech items in the water, thus we are likely have a lower OPEX.
DO WE HAVE A GLOBAL MARKET to approach here? What is your own opinion? Our different, technologies, have been subject to a Computerized Fluid Dynamics "CFD" energy production analysis at D3 Applied Technologies. Our first "pilot" platform is subject to "up & running" live production/verification tests in southern Spain, once all permits, detail design and other associated effect/endurance/strength calculations are in place. Indications show that our platforms should also provide a good CAPEX per MW installed. We are cautiously optimistic, because of the ever present energy from ocean currents ensuring that our renewable energy can be produced 24/7. Important parameters for our invention are higher availability, dependability and longevity, to name a few of our advantages.
